FIM X-Trial World Championship continued in France with legendary Toni Bou winning the race
The French city of Chambéry welcomed the world’s best x-trial riders last weekend, when the second stage of this year’s FIM X-Trial World Championship series was held there.
The new season began with a small surprise, when the opening event of X-Trial Madrid just before Christmas was won by last year’s World Championship silver medalist Jaime Busto, who managed to beat in the final his countrymen Toni Bou and Adam Raga.
However, the dominance of Toni Bou was once again seen at X-Trial Chambéry on Saturday evening. Bou, who offered an extremely confident performance, dominated his competitors in the Final of the race and also rose to share the lead in the World Series.
“I am very happy with the win but most of all the way I got it. I needed a win like this today – dominating the Final from start to finish – after what happened in Madrid. Winning like this is a real confidence boost. We have done a good job and I thank my team for that,” said Toni Bou in an interview after the victory.
The remaining positions of the X-Trial Chambéry podium were occupied by the co-leader of the World Championship, Jaime Busto, and his compatriot Gabriel Marcelli.
A total of 8 races will be held this season, bringing the world’s best trials riders to six countries. The culmination of the season is scheduled for April 26 in Tallinn.
Tallinn hosted the FIM X-Trial World Championship stage for the first time in October 2024. The TRIXS 2024 competition left such a good impression on the International Motorcycle Federation that they decided to entrust Estonia with an even higher caliber competition for the new season.
“Tickets for X-Trial Tallinn stage are on sale. We are going to do our best to ensure that the local motorsport enthusiasts from Estonia and our neighboring countries would get the best experience possible and that we ensure a high-level sporting event. It’s definitely worth marking April 26th already in your calendar,” said Oliver Läll, one of the main organizers of the competition.
Tickets for the X-TRIAL World Championship Tallinn event are available and can be found on Piletitasku.
