X-Trial Tallinn will bring the world’s best female riders to Estonia
The organizers of the adrenaline-filled motorcycle competition TRIXS 2025, taking place in Tallinn at the end of April, have announced officially joining the newly created FIM Women’s X-Trial Trophy competition.
It was already announced at the end of last year that Tallinn would host the final stage of the FIM X-Trial World Championship for men on April 26. Now, the competition has been extended over two days, starting on the 25th, when the best female X-Trial riders take the stage. The list also includes local fan-favourite Keity Meier!
“We are very happy that the International Motorcycling Federation have offered us such an opportunity. This means even more excitement, crazy tricks and top-level sporting moments for the local fans. X-Trial Tallinn will also be the final stage in the women’s calendar, where the overall winner of the World Championship series will be crowned. I hope that fans will come to Unibet Arena, because we have a unique opportunity to see Estonia’s own Keity Meier in action,” said TRIXS 2025 organizer Oliver Läll.
Läll added that the support of the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency was a key driver behind the expansion of the competition over two days. The Agency announced recently their support to four cultural and three sporting events, which will bring an international audience to Estonia and increase the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists. TRIXS 2025 was one of them.
The budget of the support, co-financed from the European Union’s structural funds, was nearly half a million euros, of which 190,000 euros will go to supporting sports events.
“When we first held the FIM X-Trial World Championship in Tallinn last year, we were able to attract several hundred fans from both Finland and Latvia. However, the support from the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency will help us reach beyond the usual motorsport community. Our plan is to bring at least 600 foreign motorcycling fans to the Unibet Arena this year. Considering the growing popularity of X-Trial, this is realistic,” said Läll.
According to the impact assessment, the events supported by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency will bring a total of 6,500 foreign visitors to Estonia, who will spend 21,000 nights in local accommodation establishments. Considering the average expenditure of foreign visitors per day, the estimated economic impact of the supported events is over three million euros.
“In addition to the fact that these events bring direct income to several sectors, such as entertainment services, transport, accommodation, catering; international sports and cultural events organised in Estonia play a very important role in shaping the country’s image. A sporting event with a good level of international audience interest and participation will raise Estonia’s profile and help market us as a tourist destination,” said Anneli Lepp, Tourism Manager at the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency.
